How much paperwork is applying for citizenship in a Caribbean country?
I am seriously considering obtaining citizenship through a Caribbean citizenship by investment option. Top of my list is St. Kitts and Nevis, bu I'm also looking into Antigua and Dominica. I'm curious about the ins and outs of these countries' due diligence processes. How thorough is the background check, considering I will apply with my family, which consists of about ten people? How much paperwork will this mean?

The paperwork required to apply is fairly standard throughout the various Caribbean jurisdictions. The principal applicant would be required to compete all the various application forms, and the supporting paperwork would include Government documents such as Identity cards and passports, birth and marriage certificates, banking details and proof of address and funds. These will be required for all dependent family members.

Approximately 15 sets of documents are requested for each family member, and the background check is very thorough. The applicants undergo due diligence by both the government and the banks.

There is a significant amount of paperwork gathering. However, most applicants can pull it all together within a month of our initial detailed call to ascertain the supporting documents required for your family specifically. The experience is largely dictated by the efficiency and proficiency of the Licensed Agent overseeing and guiding your application. My best advice is to choose someone who will lay out everything for you in great detail so you know what is expected and the timelines, and there will be no unnecessary delays.
