If you have submitted your Manifestation of Interest for residency in Portugal but do not yet have your residency card, traveling to the UK and returning to Portugal can be complicated. The Manifestation of Interest itself does not act as a travel document or grant you re-entry rights, so, without a valid visa or residency card, leaving and re-entering Portugal could result in complications at the border. As such, my advice would be, if you’re unsure about your status or the risks involved, it’s safer to wait in Portugal until your residency process is finalized unless you have express authorization from AIMA stating that you can leave and re-enter the country.
