What are the pros and cons of applying for Italy’s startup visa through direct application and certified incubators?

I learned that there are two ways to apply for a startup visa in Italy. As an investor with limited knowledge of the local economy, should I apply directly or should I go through an incubator?

There are no particluar advantages in applying for the start-up visa by the incubator. You may ask some professionals to help you out in dealing with the application instead of requesting the incubator support, which will probably make things easier and faster.

If you apply through an incubator, you have more chances to obtain the visa because you will have their support. The key factor for obtaining a startup visa is to be able to present an innovative idea/project. If you find an incubator who is interested in your project and willing to take you as a partner, it is certainly better than filing the application independently

The law provides for both the possibility of applying directly or through a certified incubator, hence the Committee evaluating the application should not make any discrimination on whether the application is made through one way or the other. Certainly having the support of a certified incubator can be considered a plus since it means that the certified incubator is willing to assist in the launching of the innovative startup.

It goes without saying that the pros of applying for Italy’s start-up visa through certified incubators gives you peace of mind that all the procedure would be guaranteed by professional people (who are covered by a professional insurance policy). Anyway, if you are an investor with limited knowledge of the local economy but also with low capital to invest, you'd better think to apply directly.
