No new updates regarding any change in the law for 2023. The parliament voted for the program to continue accepting new applicants for 2023 (at least) - this means that the program will not be terminated before then. There is no news regarding the cancelation of the program so far. As such, you can proceed with the application anytime during 2023. However, due to the delays in the SEF appointments, we do recommend starting it as soon as possible.
Currently there is no change to the golden visa program, as the government has decided to maintain the program in 2023. Whether that is a decision that will carry over into the following years, we cannot predict. If the idea is to invest in Portugal and apply for the Golden Visa Program, at the moment, you can do so.
Since last year's changes, there is no relevant update. The fact that the project's law to finish the program did not pass by the parliament means that during 2023 we do not expect any change to the existing program. The government created a commission to analyze and propose changes to the existing program, but we still do not know the extent of those changes.
