I learned that the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) is the only provincial program of Canada that accepts passive investment, which meets my needs perfectly. I run a successful business in Malaysia and have to spend most of my time here to operate the business. I would like to know what residency requirements I need to fulfill if I apply for the QIIP?

The residency requirements for the investor program are the same as for any permanent resident status. That said, there are a number of scenarios that may provide for additional
flexibility depending on your circumstances, some of which are particularly suited to business owners.
The residency requirements are the same for all categories. Two years in Canada out of the last five years at the moment, you apply for a new P.R. card. There is some exceptions also. For example, accompanying your Canadian spouse out of Canada is the same as being in Canada.
