Thomas Jacobsen founded and heads Papilio Services Ltd., which provides corporate, residency and taxation services to private clients. The firm offers tax solutions and sets up and manages companies, partnerships, foundations, trusts and funds. It also assists those seeking residency or citizenship by investment in Malta.Jacobsen also oversees Papilio’s private client department and serves as the firm’s money laundering reporting officer and the accredited agent for the Malta Individual Investor Programme.
Jacobsen brings experience from his time as a lawyer for the Royal Norwegian Air Force, after which he relocated to Malta. For 10 years, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the taxand legal department, advising clients locally and worldwide on tax compliance and cross-border issues.Expanding his focus, Jacobsen founded a firm advising high-net-worth individuals and international clients on tax, compliance, residency and corporate issues. Along with his expertise in capital gains taxation, double taxation treaties, international taxation optimization and intellectual property structuring, Jacobsen is proficient in Maltese corporate law and such matters as corporate governance, management and administration.
Jacobsen received a law degree with a specialty in international tax from the University of Oslo. He is a fellow of the Malta Institute of Taxation and a member of the International Bar Association, the Investment Migration Council, the International Fiscal Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners in Malta.
He is fluent in English, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian.
