Inês Azevedo is an experienced immigration lawyer and Counsel at Morais Leitão. She specializes in migration law, real estate law, and corporate law.
Before Morais, she worked at law firms Ethikos Lawyers Portugal and Azevedo Legal. She also worked for the Portuguese government as Deputy to the Secretary of State and Assistant to the Minister for Regional Development. She was in charge of the migration portfolio and was responsible for establishing the Portuguese migration policy. Prior to this, she contributed to restructuring the High Commission for Migration, adjusting the institution to new migration needs and to the needs of international migrants in Portugal.
Azevedo graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon; she has a master’s degree in international development and cooperation, and has completed two post-graduate courses in energy law and tax law. She also completed the ISEP Program – INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Program.
She has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2006 and speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
