What additional requirements are needed for Portuguese citizenship after holding a resident status through investment for five years?
Will the naturalization process require any language proficiency? Will I or my family members need to go through tests? What are the main interview / due diligence processes we’ll need to follow?

After completing the five year period as a resident in Portugal, and in order to apply for the Portuguese citizenship, one must provide his/her birth certificates; provide a clean criminal record from every country where he/she resided for more than one year; provide a certificate of A2 level in Portuguese (in order to achieve this, you’ll have to be subject to a Portuguese examination); prove the existence of connections with Portugal. The application for the Portuguese citizenship does not foresee any interview with the applicant to be held; it is but a simple document delivery to the competent services, who will then analyze them.
