Bulgaria offers a freelance entrepreneur program, which is basically the same as the more modern term "digital nomad". In order to qualify, the candidate must obtain permit from the Bulgarian ministry of labor and a visa type D. All residence permits (visas) lead to full citizenship, and the length of time required depends on many factors.
