The investor visa does not require, for its renewal, that the holder spends a minimum amount of time in Italy. You first obtain a 2-year permit and if you keep the investment you can obtain a 3-year extension. You will need to travel to Italy at least 2 times, to file for the permit and to collect the permit when it is issued.
