Do they all have to be residential properties or can I also buy small commercial properties?

You will have to select a single qualifying property for the purpose of making the citizenship by investment application. However, there is no limit on how many properties one can own thereafter.

There are some commercial properties that qualify for citizenship and those are specifically requested.
