I put my application on hold after the government decided to end its SUV program. I was told the new program would launch sometime this year, but it’s almost November, and there have been no updates. Is there a delay?

They may announce in mid-November. However, they are focusing on job offers now and if you wish to arrange one, your residency path will be smoother to achieve.
It is a fact that IRCC (Immigration Canada) held exploratory talks to outline their plan to reopen a small pilot SUV Program, but there is no guarantee that this will lead to the effective launch of an actual program in the foreseeable future, and there is no garantee that you will qualify.
Best is to look at current available options - and they exist - and choose an existing one.
Thank you for reaching out regarding the Start-up Visa (SUV) program.
Please note that IRCC paused new intake for the federal Start-up Visa program, and processing times for the existing inventory remain extended. Because there is currently no confirmed launch date or official framework published for a replacement federal pilot, we recommend exploring active Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) entrepreneur streams or alternative business immigration pathways as more practical options to achieve your goals in Canada.
