Is it better to get the residency permit in Panama with the real estate investment option or a bond option?

Which would have a higher return on investment, especially seeing that the securities option is more expensive? But I also have little interest in upkeeping property. What would you recommend?

The type of investment will depend on the way the investor feels more confident. Stock exchange market can give between 5 to 8 % depending on the portfolio and risk. Real estate is always a safer investment and may vary depending on the market conditions. A property may require paying of taxes and titling fees.

If the investment is done with the right support, the real estate investment should have higher returns than that of a bond option or a fixed-term bank account. There are a few options to consider, given that based on your nationality one may opt for an investment of USD 200,000 either in real estate or a fixed-term account for 36 months and achieve permanency. On the other hand, the Qualified or Golden Investors visa will require that the applicant holds the investment for 60 months.

Both options will make you eligible for permanent residency with the Qualified Investor Visa. The bond option is certainly a more liquid option upon its required holding term completion, while returns on both investment options are variable and not guaranteed.
