I am applying for a passport through the citizenship-by-investment process. I am 50 and without any criminal history, so I’m probably an ideal candidate. My son, however, is 20. He was convicted of a robbery in our home country and served about a year in jail. He is still my dependent. Could something from a dependent’s past hurt the parent, who is the applicant? Why or why not?

Is your son also going to be part of the application? If yes, then that may affect the application.
