Can one hire their own architect to build any type of structure on land acquired in New Zealand? Or can they only acquire already built residential and commercial properties?

In the land acquired for Investment migration in New Zealand, you are allowed to hire your own architect and build a structure on the land after obtaining the approval of the relevant council or territory authorities where the property is situated. A commercial property can include an empty land if you or your developer has submitted development plans to regulatory authorities and the work has started.
