When can investors expect biometric checks to become mandatory for St. Kitts and Nevis’ CBI program?

I learned that St. Kitts and Nevis will soon require mandatory biometric checks on applicants of its citizenship-by-investment program. When can investors expect this change to take effect? How could this elongate the application process?
