I am planning to apply for the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP). When my application gets approved, will I immediately become liable to fulfill the tax liabilities of Canada? How does the tax system work for investment immigrants?

The tax system in Canada is based on if you are a tax resident or not. It does not matter what is your immigration status. Links to Canada are usually what they look at.
