I’m from Iraq and would like to purchase an apartment in Istanbul and get citizenship. But the only issue is that I once overstayed my tourist visa in Turkey due to a family emergency and I’m concerned this would make me ineligible? How can I remedy this?

If no entry ban is issued following the visa overstay but instead a fine is paid, it should have no impact in principle.
