I’m moving from the UK to Turkey to work at a Turkish university and plan to stay for five years which should make me eligible for Turkish citizenship. But I’ve been told it is better to buy property and get permanent residency instead since I might lose my job as a foreigner if I apply for citizenship after five years at a private Turkish university. What option would you advise me so that I don’t lose my job and I also become a citizen?

The answer to your question will depend on your contract and status with the university. In case your status is as a foreign lecturer or similar, then the citizenship may have impact on your job.
