Diogo Capela is a Portuguese lawyer and founding Partner at Lamares, Capela & Associados (LACA), a Lisbon-based law firm advising private and corporate clients from Portugal and around the world.

For more than ten years, Capela has focused particularly on Immigration Law, Citizenship and Foreign Investment, advising individuals, families, investors, entrepreneurs and companies on their legal relationship with Portugal. His work includes residence and citizenship matters, investment-related legal advice and the coordination of legal needs that may also involve corporate, real estate, tax and other areas of Portuguese law.

He is a regular speaker and panelist at international events focused on immigration, investment migration and foreign investment. Additionally, he is a certified member of the Investment Migration Council and has been recognized by UGlobal Immigration among its Top 25 Global Migration Attorneys for five consecutive years. In 2026, he was also recognized as Foreign Investment Law Expert of the Year in Portugal in the Leaders in Law Global Awards.

Capela studied Law at the University of Lisbon and completed postgraduate studies in Urban Planning and Construction Law, Tourism Law and Administrative Law of the Sea. Diogo speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
